Community entrepreneurs shine at Northam Plaza market day
Northam – Northam Plaza held a festive market day for the community on Saturday, 2 February. It gave entrepreneurs a platform to display their products and services.
The market was organised by Petrus and Marline Nieman to empower the community.
Various stalls with woodwork, pannekoek, hotdogs, cupcakes, make-up, books, jaffles and much-much more was on show.
The book stall was manned by primary school children under adult supervision, to raise funds for their rugby and netball tour by selling donated second-hand books. This was a valuable experience to encourage young people to be entrepreneurs and teach them independence.
The Northam Plaza market day is also a day for families and community members to come together and get to know one another.
In an interview with Platinum Bushvelder, organiser Marline Nieman said: “I would like to thank our community for their support at the market.
Projects like these are important to the community, not only to earn extra money, but also to get their products out to market.”
