Five arrested for house robbery – AFTER VIOLENT FARM ATTACK IN NORTHAM
 

Northam – Police teamwork between Limpopo and North West provinces has led to the swift arrest of five suspects following a violent farm attack near Northam in the early hours of Thursday, 2 October 2025.

According to police reports, seven people were asleep on the farm when they were ambushed by a group of armed attackers wearing balaclavas at around 01:20. The intruders assaulted and terrorised the victims before fleeing with cash in foreign currency, cellphones, diesel water pumps, and vehicle batteries.

A joint cross-border investigation was immediately launched. Acting on vital intelligence, police traced the suspects’ getaway vehicle to Brits in the North West Province. The five suspects were apprehended, and all stolen property was recovered.

The suspects appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 3 October 2025, for possession of suspected stolen property, before being transferred to Northam Magistrate’s Court to face charges of house robbery. Limpopo provincial police commissioner, lieutenant general Thembi Hadebe, commended the teamwork.
