Koedoeskop – Dedication, discipline, and determination are paying off for the Rhino Ring Contact Fighting Art club. On 23 August 2025, the team travelled to Newlands, Johannesburg, to compete in the Limpopo trials – and their hard work brought home victory.

Several of the club’s talented martial artists were awarded their MASA Limpopo Colours and will now proudly represent the province at the National Championships, taking place from 24–26 October 2025 in Vanderbijlpark, Emerald City.

Those selected for the national stage are:

  • Roland van Tonder – Semi contact high kicks, Millennium fighting, series
  • Erick Grobbelaar – Semi contact low kicks, semi contact boxing, baton fighting
  • Reinhardt Bothma – Semi contact low kicks, semi contact high kicks, baton and bo-fighting
  • Petrus Heymans – Semi contact low kicks, semi contact boxing, bo-fighting
  • Janneman Grobbelaar – Semi contact low kicks, baton and bo-fighting
  • Lourens Tolmay – Semi contact low kicks, semi contact boxing, bo-baton-African stick fighting, series and weapon series

“This is a huge achievement for our fighters, and we are incredibly proud of their progress,” said instructor sensei Thereasa Tolmay.

The Rhino Ring Contact Fighting Art club is based at Laerskool Koedoeskop and is open to new members who want to train, grow in confidence, and be part of a winning team. To join, contact sensei Thereasa Tolmay at 082 615 9319.
