Rhinos charge ahead in Golden Cup – Playing for Bevin

Setaria – Northam Platinum Rhinos Rugby Club kicked off their Pick n Pay Golden Cup journey with power, passion, and purpose on Saturday, 27 September 2025, when they faced the Welkom Rovers. The Rhinos stormed to a remarkable 101–11 victory, securing their spot in the second round.

This coming Saturday, 4 October 2025, the Rhinos will defend their home turf as they clash against Centurion Rugby Club. Kick-off is at 16:00, and supporters are urged to come in numbers to cheer on the team.

But this year’s tournament is about more than rugby. It’s about honour. “Everything we do in this Golden Cup is for Bevin Fortuin. Though he is no longer with us, his memory and spirit drive us forward. This entire campaign is dedicated to him,” said assistant coach Flip de Kock.

Bevin Fortuin, remembered as a leader and friend, left a lasting mark on the Rhinos family. In tribute, the team unveiled their new rugby jersey dedicated to him, a symbol of playing not only for victory, but for legacy.
