Platinum Bushvelder newspaper | Thabazimbi – In February 2026, Thabazimbi will roar with more than motorbike engines — it will echo with hope.

The “Ride for a Child” charity motorbike event, organised by Pediatric Care Africa, is changing course this year for one very special reason: Caleb, a baby from Nelspruit born with a rare and severe brain condition that causes relentless seizures. Surgery is his only chance.

On Monday, 16 February 2026, the riders arrive in Thabazimbi as part of this national fundraising journey. The following day, Tuesday, 17 February, they will visit a local orphanage — a reminder that this ride is about children, community, and standing together when it matters most.

Unlike previous years, the 2026 ride is not about distance, but direction — focusing all energy on raising funds for Caleb’s life-saving brain surgery in Cape Town. Every rand raised goes directly to his verified BackaBuddy campaign to help cover medical, travel, and recovery costs.

Bikers, businesses, families and residents are encouraged to take note now, spread the word, and get ready to support when the riders roll in.

Because when Thabazimbi shows up, it shows up strong — and for Caleb, that strength could mean a future.
