Thumbs up to a cleaner town!

Regorogile/ Thabazimbi – Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM) in partnership with Ngata Ntsi Youth Development and Welfare embarked on a clean-up campaign in Regorogile on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 January.

Known as the Clean My Ward campaign, the initiative focuses on cleaning the area around Regorogile cemetery,ward 12 and other areas. Municipal officials, led by the director for community services Segale Pilane, ward councillor Marcus Matshelanokana, ward committee members as well as a team from the Community Work Programme (CWP) all rolled up their sleeves to make a difference in this community.

Everyone has the right to a clean and safe environment but with this right comes responsibility. By disposing waste in the right way - using bins and not illegally dumping waste - we can keep our town clean. 

The campaign is a clarion call for the community to take pride in taking care of their environment.  

In an interview with Platinum Bushvelder Ngata Ntsi Youth Development and Welfare representative, Obakeng Molefe said:

“We don’t want this to be a once-off event. We want to continue cleaning up the areas in and around Thabazimbi so that we can be proud of our town. We urge people to get involved in cleaning up their environment.”
