SANDF & TLM in joint operation

Thabazimbi – Members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) joined the Thabazimbi Local Municipality's (TLM) COVID-19 local command council on Thursday 21 May to ensure that motorists adhere to level-4 lockdown regulations.

TLM mayor councillor John Michael Fischer welcomed SANDF interim provincial commander brigadier general TE Mulaudzi and the joint operation legal officer admiral Kani and thanked them for their assistance in protecting the community's health.

The Thabazimbi Traffic Department and local police also formed part of this task team. Together they managed to stop 662 vehicles and screen 1,404 people. A total of 16 fines were issued on the day.
