VOTING IN THABAZIMBI WARD 2

Thabazimbi – The Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM) will be hosting a community meeting at the Kumba Bioscope Hall in ward 2 to discuss the election of a new ward committee for ward 2 on Tuesday 8 December.

The meeting will start promptly at 17:15 and is held according to sections 72 and 73 of the Local Government Municipal Structures Act (No. 117 of 1998), read with section 21 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act (No. 32 of 2000).

All registered voters residing in ward 2 are invited to participate in the election and establishment of the new ward committee in the TLM, whose term of office will be aligned to the current term of council administration, which ends in 2021. The election of the ward committee will be conducted in line with applicable legislation and provincial guidelines regarding the election of ward committees. Residents of ward 2 who wish to take part in the voting process and/or want to form part of the ward committee should bring an identification document to the meeting.

All applicable COVID-19 regulations and protocols regarding public gatherings will be followed and people without a mask may not enter. The permitted capacity at the venue is 150 people. Attendees will undergo screening and hand sanitiser will be available at the doors.
