The difference a wheelchair can make

Thabazimbi – A girl in desperate need of a wheelchair received one on Thursday 5 January 2023! A benefactor in the Thabazimbi community approached Thabazimbi Feed the Poor and informed the NPO that he had wheelchairs to donate.  

His words were barely cold when an 8-year-old disabled child was identified. The girl was in dire need of a wheelchair that would make her life easier. Because she didn’t have a wheelchair, she had been crawling for the past seven years. 

Emotions were high for everyone who attended the handover. At first, the girl was unsure of what was happening, but her fear soon turned to joy as she was lifted into her new chair.

The family aims to send the youngster to a special needs school with a hostel in Bela-Bela and having the wheelchair will certainly help to make this transition a lot easier.
