Collision causes a chain reaction

Thabazimbi – Two trucks, a road safety vehicle, and a Honda collided on the R510, near the Krokidilriver bridge on Wednesday 18 January 2023.


A chain reaction was set into motion when one truck crashed into another, which consequently hit a road safety vehicle, which then crashed into a Honda. 


Two people sustained injuries and had to be transported to hospital for further treatment. One of the injured persons was a traffic officer, while the other was a truck driver who was transporting JoJo tanks with a trailer.

Traffic came to a standstill due to the accident and Community Policing Forum (CPF) members, along with Dinare Security, and Thabazimbi Fire and Rescue (TFR) were deployed to assist with regulating the traffic. The line of traffic stretched for approximately three kilometres with motorists who waited to pass.
