7,000 KM FOR CHILDREN WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT 2024
Thabazimbi – In an unparalleled display of unity and philanthropy, the Pediatric Care Africa organisation is gearing up for its annual event, the “Ride for a Child” charity motorbike ride 2024.
This event is not just a journey but a bold statement of collective determination to change lives, one kilometre at a time. And guess what? Thabazimbi is on this special route planned through South Africa!
Scheduled to kick off on the 11th of February 2024, the 5th edition of the “Ride for a Child” will see motorbike enthusiasts revving their engines for a noble cause. Spanning a staggering 7,000 km journey across the breathtaking landscapes of South Africa, this ride is more than an adventure; it’s a lifeline for underprivileged children requiring surgeries and medical treatments.
Mark your calendars as Day 3 of this epic journey unfolds on Tuesday 13 February 2024, the stretch from Lephalale (Ellisras) to Thabazimbi, and then to Rustenburg, promises to be a journey of solidarity and support. Dr. André Hattingh, the CEO and founder of Pediatric Care Africa, shared his heartfelt sentiments about the journey through Thabazimbi: “Thabazimbi is an absolute highlight on our ride around South Africa. It’s challenging to find a community more friendly and supportive anywhere else. We will be riding through Thabazimbi from Lephalale to Rustenburg on the 13th February, and it would be an honour to have local motorbike riders join us. Our pit stop for a coffee in Thabazimbi is not just a break in the journey but a moment to connect, chat, and garner support for the sick children of South Africa.” The grand finale of the tour is on the 24th of February. This date is set to be etched in history, as thousands of motorbike riders from various clubs and organisations will join forces with Dr. André Hattingh in a world-record-breaking attempt. The goal is ambitious yet profoundly impactful: the most motorbikes riding in staggered formation as a single group, a symbol of solidarity for the welfare of sick children.
The crescendo of this awe-inspiring ride will unfold 50km before the Caltex Mentors Plaza, stretching between Storms River and Jeffreys Bay on the N2.
