Hands, Hearts & Rakes unite in Thabazimbi

Thabazimbi – Armed with rakes, black bags and community spirit, volunteers gathered on Saturday, 28 June 2025, for a cleanup drive at Tant Mollie Park in Jourdan Street.

The initiative was spearheaded by DA Ward 2 Councillor Estie Fourie, who rallied about 15 local residents to restore the park’s beauty.

“We’re committed to reclaiming our public spaces,” said Councillor Fourie. “This is only the beginning — every weekend we’ll be cleaning a new area in Thabazimbi and Regorogile.”

This coming Saturday, 5 July, the team will tackle the park in Judith Street. Residents are invited to join in and are encouraged to bring black bags and rakes.

Special thanks go to Roots, Thaba Spar, and Foodzone for generously donating water, cooldrinks and food for the volunteers, and to Wimpie for supporting the Thabazimbi Local Municipality in this effort.
