67 minutes for Madiba

Thabazimbi/ Rooiberg – Former president Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, international statesman, philanthropist and – one of the greatest leaders of our time – is an inspiration to people all over the world.

As everyone around the world celebrates Madiba’s legacy, it is his code which is key – that everyone has the power to change the world. “It is time for new hands to lift the burdens.

It is in your hands now,” said Nelson Mandela. “I would be honoured if such a day can serve to bring together people around the world to fight poverty and promote peace and reconciliation.”

Each minute represents a year the father of our nation was devoted to fighting for social justice, before he officially retired.

On Wednesday 18 July employees of Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM) followed suit to honour Madiba. Mayor of TLM Midah Moselane led her team with their first stop at the Thabazimbi Old Age Home where they donated blankets for the elderly.

TLM also visited the Tshepong crèche to help them paint the crèche and made a stop at Reneilwe crèche in Rooiborg to donate toys.
