LIKE DIAMONDS, WOMEN ARE PRECIOUS

Amandelbult – Women from various cultural backgrounds gathered at the Amandelbult Recretion Club to celebrate Women’s Day on 9 August.

The event was hosted by headmaster and owner of A Lo Ha Keiki creche, Mary Prinsloo. Speakers of the day were René Jansen Laas, sales representative at Platinum Bushvelder whose theme was “you are a diamond”, whilst Tokkie Swanepoel from S&T Brokers spoke on the need for women to be financially independent.

“Diamonds are one of the most precious gems and are the hardest and most valuable of all precious stones. A beautiful stone and created as one of a kind, and so are you. In every negative situation, there is a positive one. Always remember that what is in you is greater than what is in the world. Our husbands and children are looking to us as women for inspiration and strength. You are far stronger than you could ever imagine,” said René.

Tokkie exclaimed that women should be financially independent. “You must know what is going on in both you and your partner’s finances to enable you to stand on your feet, should anything happen to him. Save money for a rainy day and control your expenditure.”
