Requirements

Purpose of the Role:
To be responsible for ore reserve management at Rhino Andalusite Mine, Thabazimbi as well as managing the mining operations plus contractor
Scope of job:
To directly have an impact on ore reserves, short- and long-term mine budgets, including capital expenditure projects.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Grade Control Management

• Perform the adequate sampling at the mine and at the plant to check that the correct ore is being feed to the plant.
• Perform mapping and mineralogical studies to develop understanding and geological model of the ore body.
• Develop and manage the system required to ensure the contractor is mining selectively the ore body and is avoiding contamination and dilution.
• Liaise with plant management on a day to day basis to communicate around ore quality/characteristics issues
