Bundu Hotel engulfed in flames
Northam – A runaway fire caused havoc at Bundu Hotel in Northam on Thursday 20 August. According to an eyewitness, the fire started when someone tried to burn rubbish inside a bin near the hotel. A pile of wooden pallets standing close to the bin caught fire and spread to a dried-out tree which fell on top of the roof of the hotel.

Bleskop/ Rustenburg – A mentally unstable man stands accused of killing his two-year-old daughter by stabbing her several times with a knife. The murder occurred on Monday 3 August at the Bleskop mining community close to the Sibanye Recreation Club.

Rustenburg – According to an eyewitness it took just more than two hours after the emergency services arrived on the scene to contain a major gas leak in the Zinniaville industrial area. A concerned employee of a business close to a property where the gas leak occurred, contacted Platinum Weekly on Thursday 9 July.
