Brits – Education activist Hendrick Makaneta condemned the stabbing of a female teacher at Tshefoge Primary School near Jericho outside Brits on Monday 3 May. The 47-year-old teacher was allegedly stabbed by her 63-year-old boyfriend – who is also a teacher at a nearby school - in full view of several learners.
Brits – A 43-year-old farmer, Pier Schutte, was shot while tending to his sheep at around 18:00 on Wednesday 5 May on his farm near Dikhololo, Brits.
Pretoria – The video of a foiled heist, in which a driver and his colleague fended off heavily armed robbers who repeatedly shot at their vehicle, has gone viral.

Lephalale – A joint team of detectives from the Limpopo SAPS provincial office and Waterberg District is working around the clock to track down and arrest the remaining four suspects involved in the house robbery at Lephalale mayor Jack Maseko’s home on Sunday 14 February.
Thabazimbi – Shortly after 11 o’clock on Sunday 18 April, Pep Home in Thaba Mall was robbed at gunpoint by four males. Platinum Bushvelder spoke to several customers and employees at the mall about the incident – who were quite traumatised by the ordeal. The gunmen fired one shot, which was heard by several mall shoppers who scrambled for their lives. One cartridge and one projectile (which accounts for 1 bullet fired) was found at the scene. The alarm was raised, notifying SAPS and local security groups, as the suspects fled the scene towards Northam in a Corsa bakkie. Read more on page 3.
